MY PHILOSOPHY
Life is stressful but the way we approach our health and performance doesn’t have to be.
We’ve never had so much technology and information, yet we still struggle to feel well. Why is that?
One of the reasons is because the way we train adds to that stress. Contributing to burn-out, injury, or chronic fatigue. This is a lost opportunity.
Exercise is a physical stress. Therefor it’s an opportunity to practice how we respond to stress.
We can use our training to build a healthier relationship to stress.
The pursuit of health has become exhausting. It’s adding to our stress, when it should be helping us to deal with it.
The antidote to this madness is simple. Developing a “personal practice”.
A personal practice is connected to yourself. IT fits your unique lifestyle. It’s informed by you, in relationship to you. A commitment by you to take care of you.
A workout won’t change your life, but a movement practice can.
One deep breath won’t change your nervous system, but a breath practice can.
One meditation won’t quiet your mind, but a mindfulness practice can.
You get the idea. Happy Practicing :)
My Approach
Below are some videos about how I view health and performance. This is my model of the wheel aiming to achieve relaxed performance. Feel free to use this model to self assess where you’re at with your own personal practice.
