About Ryan Burkholder

Ryan’s adult life has converged two unsuspecting worlds.

One has been his pursuit of high level performance as a professional hockey player.

The other has been his exploration and passion for the healing arts and personal development.

His passion for athletics began as a typical Canadian boy growing up playing hockey.  He would play junior for his hometown (Newmarket, Ontario), go on to receive a scholarship at UAH (University of Alabama Huntsville), and go on to play professionally in Europe and Asia.

The healing arts came less by choice.  Ryan was involved in a traumatic car accident when he was 20 years old, losing a very close friend in the accident.  As a young adult he was faced with big questions.  Ever since, he has explored philosophy, spirituality, and many of the healing arts.

By complete accident, Ryan discovered a relationship between his healing journey and his pursuit of performance.  For example, he learned how mindfulness actually made him a better hockey player.  Integrating some of his spiritual pursuits not only enhanced his performance as an athlete it also improved his experience.

After hockey, Ryan followed his passion of personal development.  He began working as a personal trainer in 2013 and soon started studying Osteopathy.  He graduated as an Osteopath in 2018.

He currently draws on his experiences as an athlete and an Osteopath to inform his coaching approach. He now works as a holistic health coach. He hopes to help people achieve a balance between their health and their performance. Making allies out of people’s peace and potential.

Ryan currently lives and works from his Homestead in the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, Canada.
